He took the assistance of a midwife during childbirth as hospitals in Germany ask for the name of the mother in the documents. In his opinion, although he gave birth to the child, he is a man and therefore the child does not have a mother. The authorities in the hospital do consider him as the mother of the child as he gave birth, although he is listed as a man.
