Firm, Expelliere International, based in Belfast, has created a product which according to them can remove gum from pavements in just few seconds, the Daily Star reported.
With pavements all over the world covered in old bits of gum, the company is quite sure that there are no alternatives available and that it could help cut the cost of chewing gum clean-ups, which costs 30 billion pounds globally.
The kit by the company, which is using "ionic" technology first developed by Queen's University in Belfast six years ago, involves applying two liquids to the gum which causes its temperature to hit 80C and then create a reaction that breaks down the polymers that bind it together.
Then when the resultant black solution is brushed and wiped away, all traces of the gum appear to go with it.
