Hollee Schwartz Temple, a law professor and co-author of 'Good Enough is the New Perfect: Finding Happiness and Success in Modern Motherhood', said that the reason that there's so much guilt is that motherhood has been turned into the 'be-all' and 'end-all' of jobs, Fox News reported.
The researcher has revealed some solutions to what working women should do to overcome this guilt and feel of being inadequate.
She suggested that a working mother should never compare herself to a fictional composite of the perfect parent by reading parenting magazines and chatting with the PTA moms, because an ideal mom just doesn't exist.
It was advised that instead of feeling guilty about the hectic schedule, one should realize that working mums are not only benefitting the family financially, but are also setting an example for their kids.
Meanwhile, a recent study from Heather Joshi of the University of London's Centre for Longitudinal Studies has found that kids with working moms did just as well at school than children with stay-at-home moms.
Temple also noted that a working mother should be kind to herself as kids don't need a perfect mom but just unconditional love.
