Can We Encourage Healthy and Happy Microbial Environments in the Design of Buildings?
Mar 27th 2013, 19:08

Jessica Green, an engineer and ecologist at the University of Oregon and the Santa Fe Institute is keenly interested in studying the nature of microorganisms around a hospital and the influence of the design of the building which can either encourage or inhibit the formation of a healthy environment.

Jessica Green was on a journey of finding out if building designs and ventilation systems can be created in such a way as to encourage healthy and happy microbial environments.

Jessica Green said that microbes have a significant role to play in every aspect of our lives. They help build ecosystems, have a role to play in climate change, and have a bearing on human health.

In a recent address, she spoke of the importance of designing buildings in such a way that it helps promote overall health.
