Harshith Ramesh, President of Episource, a healthcare knowledge outsourcing firm, with its headquarters in La Palma - California, said by the completion of the bill, the US would be spending $2.5 trillion. Episource has delivery centers' in Chennai and Mumbai.
The outcome to cut costs would be to outsource to Indian firms for maintenance and care of health records. This would include collection of healthcare, prioritizing, determining innovative solutions and allocations of resources. Episource has grown 100% per year for the last 3 years and intends to hire 2000 people by next October when the health care bill will be established.
Vikas Dubey, vice-president operations of Episource, says that his company is looking to hire more than 600 experienced medical coding professionals, health science graduates and tech leads in Chennai and Mumbai in the next year.
Dubey along with Timothy Buxton SR. Manager for coding services believes that the demand for medical coding professionals would increase dramatically.
Medical coding is the conversion of accounts of diseases, injuries, and healthcare procedures into numeric or alphanumeric designations (that is, code numbers). The code numbers are detailed in order to accurately describe the diagnoses and the procedures performed, to test or correct these diagnoses. The coding allows for health related data access to health records.
Medical codes are frequently used to identify symptoms that have to be evaluated and also to alert health care professionals to things like life threatening allergies etc., besides reporting services for reimbursements, staffing, or scheduling.
