Attitude of Boston Marathon Victim is Inspiring
Apr 28th 2013, 07:12

When she can be expected to be forlorn, this marathon bombing victim has surprised everyone by being positive and in high spirits. "I really haven't had a moment yet of being devastated," she said.

She attributed her positivism to the support she has received from family, friends and others who have helped her through this life-altering phase.

She had the choice to keep her injured left foot, but it would have been shorter than her right leg and may have also given her a lot of pain.

But she felt she will be in better shape with a prosthetic. "It certainly was a difficult decision but when I weighed the pros and cons I think this was the best decision for me," she said.

According to the expectations of doctors, she could be walking on a temporary prosthetic within six weeks and in four to six months she could begin using a permanent prosthetic device.

Ending on a positive note Abbott said, "I really think I'm going to be able to live my life in a normal way."
