Wristband Checks User's Identity Through Their Own Heartbeat
Sep 4th 2013, 19:15

The wearer registers their identity by touching a sensor that has been embedded in the top of the band with the opposite hand for about 2 minutes while Bionym's Nymi captures an ECG signature, once stored, it will recognise only this unique biometric template, New Scientist reported.

To access any device of theirs, a person just has to touch the top of the band for several seconds, while another sensor in the band is in contact with your wrist.

Once authenticated, the band communicates via Bluetooth to an app running on the device.
