Set Dancing Turns Therapeutic for Parkinson's Sufferers
Aug 13th 2013, 05:32

This form of dancing was found to be therapeutic for those diagnosed with the progressive neurological disorder. Researchers found that victims who underwent this form of therapeutic dancing were found to be better with their movement and equilibrium. This also improved their mood and they were happier.

Prof Volpe, director of Neurological Rehabilitation at St Raffaele Arcangelo Hospital in Venice, said that the conclusions of his preliminary study into the therapeutic effects of set dancing reveals that it is far better than traditional physiotherapy.

"The study was very interesting and documents the significant improvement in mobility and balance," he said. Prof Volpe also said that a more detailed study on this subject is scheduled to begin next month.
